you may be studying landscape architecture if you do weird shit like this:


That's right, i am measuring that apple. The difference, technically speaking, between a crabapple and an apple is that a crabapple is a pome of less than two inches diameter, and an apple is a pome of more than two inches diameter.


When my dad brought this basket of adorable little apples home from the farmers market, I got curious. They showed up at the beginning of July, which is absurdly early for apples. And they were so tart as to be practically inedible. But, according to my ruler, they are apples anyway.
